WINTER 2023: THE PROMPT

Malls were once the cultural epicenter of cities and towns across America. With the rise in online shopping however, many of these malls now sit empty and deserted. You work for a company that has been tasked with repurposing these abandoned spaces. You must create a new, indoor, entertainment center using the foundation and basic structure of the mall that came before. The mall you are refurbishing is 2 stories tall and 500,000 sq. ft. You get to choose what city and state this imaginary mall will be located!
Your design must include the following elements:

  • 2 attractions or entertainment experiences
  • 1 Experiential retail location with a themed element
  • 1 dining location w/ signature food item

SUMMER 2021: THE PROMPT

There are elements found in nature that are universal across any language. Those elements are air, earth, fire, and water. A theme park located in Wichita, Kansas wants to expand their existing theme park and they need your help! This new land must include 1 sit down dining experience, 1 quick service restaurant, 1 merchandise location, 1 signature merchandise item, 2 rides or attractions that must include ADA accommodations, and 1 entertainment element. They want their park to be unique which is why the land may only be based off of two elements. Choose two of the following to create a unique experience for guests: Air, Earth, Fire, Water

SUMMER 2020: THE PROMPT

Throughout history, artists have observed the world around them and materialized it into different mediums of art. A theme park located in Helena, Montana wants to expand their park in a way they have never done before. They want to create an immersive, fully themed land and they need your help! They would like you to create a minimum of one of each of the following locations: a quick service restaurant, a sit down dining experience, a merchandise location, their signature merchandise item, a ride or attraction, and some kind of entertainment element

They want to theme this area based on an artist from history. They have many options available but they only want to pick one artist and their work to be the theme of the location. They have narrowed their options down to the following artists:
